Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is more exciting and productive than we think; beyond chatbots and the applications we commonly know, artificial intelligence is in many areas of our daily lives; without understanding it, we are using it, or we cannot make better use of it. On this occasion, as students, we had the opportunity to research and present about artificial intelligence in different areas of life, such as careers, mental health, sports, economics, education, and social life. Artificial intelligence in this century supports all sectors in all areas. The presentations on this occasion began with the members of group #3 and group #1, all with fascinating points.

GROUP # 3

AI on career and mental health

Group #3 was the first group to make their presentation, opening with the topic of careers and how artificial intelligence is today on this field, The started with talking about the government supervision and the laws that govern the AI on the country. We were able to understand that the best position for the government is basically to allow it, with certain precautions, the use of artificial intelligence is relevantto avoid technological delay on  development processes. The introduced essential data such as "The National AI Initiative's goals are to maintain American leadership in AI research and development, set the global standard for the creation and application of reliable AI in both the public and private sectors, and get the United States ready for the future."

In addition, emphasis was placed on education and how artificial intelligence is treated in sectors such as colleges and universities since it is essential to know how the country's young people use these tools. More specifically, they spoke about the state of Florida: "Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is a transformative force that reshapes industries, improves lives, and shapes the future of education. Many local Florida colleges and universities offer courses, specializations, and degree programs focused on artificial intelligence. These programs equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand, develop, and apply AI technologies." This makes us understand that the state must stay at the forefront of new technologies.

Two interviews left evidence that artificial intelligence has brought progress and increased productivity, which also let us know the positive and negative impacts on the future. On the positive side, it was concluded that artificial intelligence in the professional world can help save time in production, generate efficiency, reduce costs, and analyze data quickly. On the negative side, it can create unemployment and represent dangers since it requires a lot of personal information.

The second part of group # 3 was based on the influence of artificial intelligence on mental health. The topic was introduced with the definition of mental health and AI and data on the current increase in cases of low mental health globally. They clarified that artificial intelligence still has a way to go in this area. I had the opportunity to do my research for this section of the presentation, discussing a very relevant topic, such as Mental health in Florida and how the state cares for its citizens today. It was shocking to know that Florida is one of the states with the slightest attention to mental health and with one of the most complex access to care for people. Direct data from entities such as the National Alliance of Mental Illness was used, showing that 2,889,000 adults in Florida have a mental health condition. This made clear that the state must do more for its citizens and that the state can support this situation since chatbots and apps are offered to monitor patients, but a correct implementation must be done.

GROUP # 2 

AI on Sports and economy

Group two conducted their research in artificial intelligence aimed at sports and economics and how it influences both fields.

 In the first part, the presentation on artificial intelligence in sports emphasized that AI can be an excellent support for athletes since technology today offers us good programming to monitor athletic performance and analyze sports performance.

In addition, important information was shared concerning the role adopted by the government and the laws on the use of artificial intelligence in sports, such as financing and implementation. An example of how technology has helped is the VAR replay systems to see plays that can define the course of a match and analyze situations that may be impossible to the human eye.

In the second part of the presentation, they talked about the economy and how much artificial intelligence can help make decisions regarding the stock market through technology, in addition to how, for large companies and businesses, the implementation of artificial intelligence can reduce production costs and speed up work. The research was shown on the sectors of the economy that can benefit, such as the health sector, transportation, and tourism.

GROUP # 1

AI on Education and Social Life

To finish the presentations, we had the research of group 1, which revealed how artificial intelligence can impact education and social life. Technological advances in education can have a good impact since they can use virtual reality in classes and laboratories to improve the learning experience. But it was also essential to know that regulations on using artificial intelligence can prevent students from reaching the necessary level of learning since it shortens the investigative processes by facilitating the work.

In the second part of the presentation, we talked about artificial intelligence in the social field and how AI can influence life. Again, they spoke about sports since they are an essential recreation system worldwide, such as television, cinema, and art, which are sectors that allow the development of social life.

In conclusion, each presentation was impressive because they showed us how artificial intelligence, which we only see in futuristic movies, takes place in all aspects of life today. These presentations also allowed us, as students, to perfect our investigative skills. We also continued the teamwork, which is essential to work on respect for each other's time. We had the opportunity to continue working on our linguistic and communication skills. Individually present our research.

This class gives us the space to learn, investigate, and express our ideas, and the creation of blogs helps us understand a little more about the presentation of each classmate.
