Class presentations
All students did a great job presenting and covering there topics to give a good understanding to the class. In the presentations, we covered all aspects of presentations. Students covered all sorts of topics like what to avoid in presentations, how to over come fear in public speaking, how to find information and support your ideas, how to organize and outline your presentation, how to make informative speeches and much more.
Group 1
In group 1 students went over the importance of public speaking, what to avoid in presentations and how to avoid it, and how to over come fear of public speaking. Lianet did a good job covering her topic as it went over why is public speaking a unique form of communication? which public speaking requires careful preparation, effective communication sills and an understanding of the situations to a major diverse audience. when you speak in front of an audience, you can engage them in conversation about the topic of your speech or presentation. you must select the right language to communicate to get a message across
it was also interesting to find out what to avoid during presentations to help out in the future. some examples are, Avoid exhausted topic unless you have a new approach as some topics have been talked about so often without making much headway that hearing them again makes the teachers head throb. Avoid illegal items and inappropriate topics, if you agree not sure if something is inappropriate for your presentation you can always ask your teacher first , and last is to avoid insulting your audience as you always want to approach them with an attitude of respect. you want to become familiar with process of preparing and delivering a classroom presentation and begin practicing several skills necessary for developing effective presentations
some people have the fear of public presentation, hemer explains how to reduce your fear of presenting. some nerves are natural, and take strategic steps to minimize the possibility that natural nervousness will become so severe that their delivery becomes less conversational. initial sleeplessness, worry, reluctance before your presentation, and interfering off task thoughts while you present, by doing this you lose focus on communicating your message to your audience. Anxiety could be hard especially wen we are presenting but theres some ways to as, acting confidently, knowing the subject and care about your subject, see classmates as friends, see yourself successful, and practicing confidence will make you feel more comfortable in the class room when presenting.
Group 1 i think did a good job giving a clear understanding to the class on the importance of public speaking. they made clear points and made it understandable for everyone
Group 2
Group 2 was a good presentation as they went over how to set up and complete your presentations. they went over on how to find information and support your ideas, how to organize and outline your presentation, how to deliver speech , and which words to choose
Effective speakers achieve success through well-crafted presentations that contain compelling evidence and support. There is a common general outline for the research and presentation process. 1. topic selection, discover and narrow your topic. 2. organize ideas and identify the main subordinate points. 3. supporting ideas, provide facts and examples. 4. prepping introduction and conclusion, examples, stories, and quotes are key and 5. practice and delivery, makes you feel confident and credible when addressing your audience.
Quality sources of information are key to any presentation. There are 3 main sources, 1. personal evidence. Make sure to evaluate your personal experience as evidence, and also make sure that your personal experience isn't too personal. 2. library sources, books , journals, periodicals, etc. are reliable evidence based source. and 3. web sources, search engines allow you to narrow down your research, some sources are more reliable than others such as .edu .gov and .org. knowing how to verify information is critical to the validity of your presentation and research
how can you use your voice effectively? adjust your rate to content, audience and situation. use pause for effect, use duration for attention, use eye contact to hold audience attention and facial expressions and wear appropriate attire. tips for giving effective presentations are summarize and structure, connect with your audience, adapt the fronts to the subject, choose fitting colors, use graphs to show numerical data and timelines, and choose relevant images
Group 2 was a effective presentation as they went over all sorts of thing to help you gather information and overall how to complete a good presentation.
Group 3
Group 3 is important as it goes over significant key points on creating a presentation. In this group they go over how to make a informative speech, how to make a persuasive presentation, how to prepare for special occasion presentations, and how to make an overall good group presentation.
the first purpose of informative presentations is to generate a desire for information to create information hunger. Strategies can be, arouse audience curiosity, pose a puzzling question, and provide explanations for issues that confuses people. the second purpose of informative presentations is to increase the ways in which the audience can respond to the world. audience are more likely to understand simple words and concrete ideas than complex words. Determine how to encourage your listeners involvement in your presentation.
To be an informative presenter, you can apply these five principles. Building on known information, using humor and wit, using sensory aids, organizing your information, and rewarding your listeners. you want to make your presentation engaging and fun because you tend to lose the audience when its boring.
Persuasive presentations are usually built on three forms of proof which is ethos, pathos, and logos
Ethos persuades by using an authoritative and/ or trustworthy source in support of particular view. Pathos persuades by tapping into audience members feelings. Logos persuades by using evidence and reasoning
Success in special occasion presentations depend on analyzing the message in relation to the audience and situation. adapting your speech to the occasion is an ethical consideration in special occasion speeches.
small groups are used for presentations because members share in responsibility, members are interdependent, group presentations are more interactive, and group presentations are coordinated through effective communication and planning.
Overall to have a effective group evaluation you would want to recognize individual contribution, promote open communication, encourage a mindset of improvement, provide prompt feedback, and establish clear evaluation criteria.
I think all 3 groups did a great job doing there presentations. Everyone made there parts understanding and gave the class useful information to help everyone achieve in making a good presentation.
